Variable Speed Axial FansMDV Series Variable Speed Axial Fans

The MDV Series DC Axial fans easily allow for changes in fan speed. They employ a PWM control method by which speed is changed with a PWM control circuit (not supplied).

The MDV Series is available in frame sizes from 2.36 in. (60 mm) up to 4.72 in. (120 mm).

Axial fans use a propeller to generate airflow in the direction of the axis of rotation. Capable of generating a large air flow, axial fans are suited for applications requiring ventilation cooling.

Speed Control Using PWM Control

The speed changes according to the duty ratio of the input pulse signals. This allows the air flow and static pressure to be adjusted, resulting in a reduction in noise and power consumption.

Pulse Sensor Type

Outputs a pulse signal while the cooling fan is rotating. Two pulses are output per revolution of the fan. Fan speed is monitored as the host controller, etc., reads the output pulses. This function helps you set a desired output speed for alarm activation.

Thermostat Available for Energy Saving

ThermostatThermostats (sold separately) make it possible for fans to operate only when cooling is necessary. Thermostats provide energy-saving by automatically stopping fans for example, at night, when the amount of heat generation declines following the load rate's decline in equipment, or in winter, when the ambient temperature drops and forced cooling is not necessary.

Finger Guard

Finger guards prevent fingers or foreign objects from entering the fan. Finger guards are mounted to the fan frame using bolts.

Filter

When using a fan to cool machinery, dust may accumulate inside the machinery after long periods of operation. Depending on the parts involved, this could cause a malfunction. These filters prevent dust from entering the device, keeping the air inside the machinery dust free.

Thermostat

Thermostats automatically perform ON/OFF fan control in accordance with the temperature fluctuation inside the equipment. It helps improve the equipment's "environmental" performance relative to energy savings, noise reduction, etc.

Screen

Screen

Fans are used to cool or ventilate electronic devices that may generate electromagnetic waves. These waves can escape from the fan cooling holes, causing interference to computers and measuring instruments. The screens allow the passage of air but block electromagnetic waves.

The screen is a durable magnetic shield using a stainless mesh fixed to an aluminum frame. Screens are easily attached to the fan using screws.
