2-Phase Stepper Motor and Driver Package - CVK Series

The CVK Series features one of the smallest, standard microstepping drivers combined with a 1.8° 2-phase bipolar high-torque stepper motor for the optimum motor performance. Since the driver size, installation and I/O connectors are the same, it is easy to evaluate the motor based on the application requirements. The 1.8° 2-phase CVK Series features the highest motor torque in the low speed range and with the fully digitally controlled microstepping driver, all CVK Series motors feature low vibration throughout the entire speed range.

The CVK Series is also available as a 0.36° or 0.72° 5-phase stepper motor package that features higher positional accuracy or higher torque at mid to high speed

Five frame sizes are available; 0.79 in. (20 mm), 1.10 in. (28 mm), 1.38 in. (35 mm), 1.65 in. (42 mm), and 2.22 in. (56.4 mm).

Higher Torque in the Low Speed Range

Revisions to the stepper motor winding design and a high-efficiency driver circuit design allow for significant torque increases in the low-speed range. In particular, torque in the 250 r/min range has been increased by 50% compared to conventional products allowing for quicker moves.

Reduced Vibration

Vibration and noise have been greatly reduced compared to conventional 1.8° stepper motor performance. The vibration characteristics have been significantly improved across all speed ranges with the fully digital-controlled microstep driver.

The new smooth drive control with higher current control increases the basic step angle to a maximum of 2048. As a result, a reduction in step vibration in the low speed range is achieved.

Common Driver Size Offers Flexibility in Motor Performance

The size, installation and I/O connectors for the CVK Series 1.8° and 0.36°/0.72° stepper motor and driver packages are the same. Because of this, it is easy to evaluate and select the proper package for your specific application.

Resolution Setting

It is easy to try 0.72° or 0.36° motor and driver without any changes to your 1.8° pulse input as the driver has a step resolution switch to allow for setting of input to output resolution. Simply choose a 0.36° or 0.72° package (driver mounting is the same) and use the step angle setting switch to match the existing input pulses to the desired output speed and position. There is no software or control module required.

Motor Cables

This three-piece coupling adopts an aluminum alloy hub and a resin spider. The simple construction ensures that the high torque generated by a gear motor can be transmitted reliably. The proper elasticity of the spider suppresses motor vibration.

Driver Lead Wire Set


Controllers are devices that output pulse signals needed to operate a stepper motor. Controllers let you make various settings to control your motor and also permit connection with a host programmable controller and sensors or PC. Select a controller that best suits your system.

Connection CableAs an accessory for DC input drivers, lead wires with a connector are available. These lead wires allow for easy connection of the motor, power supply and input/output signals. The connection cable set includes three connection cables (for motor, power supply and input/output signals).
