July 26, 2010 - Oriental Motor Introduces Smallest Stepping Motor in PK Lineup
Small frame size makes the PK 20mm perfectly suited for applications in small spaces.
Torrance, CA — July, 2010 —Oriental Motor is proud to introduce the newest stepping motor to its stepping motor product line: the PK 20mm, the smallest, lightest weight 1.8º per step stepping motor. Designed to complement the existing 0.72º stepping motor, the PK 20mm has a 20mm (0.79 in.) frame size and 50g (1.77 oz.) mass, making it perfectly suited for applications with little available space.
The PK 20mm motors are the smallest available stepping motors in the PK Series from Oriental Motor and have a small, lightweight body. Combined with high torque technology, they are able to meet current and future needs for a compact, space saving stepping motor with multiple step angles and performance characteristics.

June 3, 2010 - DRL Series from Oriental Motor Allows for Size Reduction
Improved series is ideal for heavier load.
Torrance, CA — June, 2010 — Oriental Motor USA is pleased to announce the improved DRL series. The DRL series allows for size reduction in both the driver and linear actuator while improving the accuracy of the linear motion.
The DRL line of linear actuators is unique in the marketplace with its hollow rotor shaft, large bore bearings for handling direct thrust loads and optional lead screw combinations with guide or no guide. Significantly different than a standard step motor with a lead screw, the DRL line of linear actuators is ideal for heavier loads, where repeatable accuracy and durability is critical. This series is now available with longer stroke lengths.
April 1, 2010 - Continuous Duty Stepping Motors
Torrance, CA — April, 2010 — ORIENTAL MOTOR USA CORP announces the release of the PKE high torque, high efficiency stepping motors that can be driven at continuous duty cycles. The PKE motors are designed to provide maximum torque while creating efficiencies currently not available in the stepper motor market. Through the use of new technology in the form of new materials, advanced stator and rotor design and construction methods, the PKE stepping motors produce 1.2 to 1.5 times more torque than a conventional stepping motor while significantly reducing the power loss common in stepping motors. Key benefits of the higher efficiency are lower heat generation (78%) by the motor, constant duty operation and up to 40% less power consumption when compared to a conventional stepping motor. CO2 emissions are reduced by up to 15kg less than a conventional model.
October 1, 2009 - Five Phase Stepping Motor and Driver/Controller Systems
Torrance, CA — October 1, 2009 — ORIENTAL MOTOR USA CORP. announces the release of the CRK Series of 5-Phase stepping motors and drivers with a built-in RS-485 compatible controller packages that offer motion that is smooth, quiet and accurate. The RS-485 based controller allows for up to 16 axes to be controlled from one RS-485 Master controller. Five network communications rates of up to 115,000 BPS can be selected. Connection to the network is simple to achieve via conveniently located RJ-45 connectors. The controller can be operated in either direct command mode, stand alone mode or by selecting stored programs to run via I/O. Programming is done via simple ASCII commands that can be sent to the controller via any basic PC based terminal program or PLC device.

Torrance, CA — April 10, 2009 — ORIENTAL MOTOR USA CORP. announces the expansion of the CMK series of 2-phase microstepping driver and motor packages. The 2.22 in-sq. round shaft frame size version of our PK-P high torque motors has been added to the product lineup. Standard encoder motor models have been added to the 1.38 in sq., 1.65 in sq., 1.97 in-sq. and 2.22 in sq. round shaft motor frame sizes. The 1.8°/step and the high resolution 0.9°/step motor versions are available with the encoder options. The encoder models are available with 200 or 400 lines and 2 or 3 channels.

Three new round shaft versions of our PK-P high torque motors with frame sizes of 1.10 in sq., 1.38 in sq., and 1.65 in sq. have been added to the product lineup. Planetary Geared motors with frame sizes of 1.65 in sq. and 2.36 in sq. have also been added. Standard encoder motor models have been added to the 1.38 in sq., 1.65 in sq., 2.22 in sq. and 3.35 in sq. round shaft motor frame sizes. The encoder models are available with 200 or 400 lines and 2 or 3 channels.

Through the use of new stator and rotor assembly techniques, power loss in the motor is significantly reduced leading to the motor achieving higher efficiency. Key benefits of the higher efficiency are lower heat generation (33%) by the motor, constant duty cycle operation is possible, up to 40% less power consumption, low vibration and improved step angle accuracy compared to previous products from Oriental Motor.
